~ Personal Care Program ~ | |||||||
We work very hard at Le Bleu Chateau to help each resident develop a routine that they feel comfortable with. For those who are more socially active, their routine may be to have no routine at all. For others, especially those suffering with a memory impairment, it is usually a strict, personal routine that helps them to stay within their comfort zone.
To accomplish this, it takes watching, listening, understanding and time. When a senior moves in, we watch to see what they do…and avoid doing. Our administrator, Liz Carroll, meets frequently with each new resident (as much as 5 times per week for the first month to 6 weeks) to talk about their life and their feelings. This research allows us to adjust to our residents and help them create a personal routine they are very comfortable with.
