Adapt Activities & Their Goals
Tip # 28 Contributed By: Activity Director Lien

For residents with cognitive issues, I encourage them to do mentally stimulating activities that fit their abilities, mood and past interests. I provide verbal and visual instructions. Success comes with engagement and enjoyment, as game rules often go out the window. My goals may include creating a sense of accomplishment and maintaining motor skills, and lessening agitation or depression.
