Good “Standing” Habits

Tip # 18 Contributed By: Mary Mulally - MeriCare Svcs.
Good “Standing” Habits

Many accidents are avoided when seniors practice good “standing” habits. Mary is showing Resident Stephanie how to safely transfer from a sitting to a standing position. Move to the edge of the chair. Place the stronger leg against the chair, if possible. Then slowly stand up. Do not pull on the walker (it may tip). Also, wait a few seconds before walking to make sure you have your balance. spacer
